The 50th Anniversary super deluxe edition box set of The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Electric Ladyland is out now. The 180-gram 6xLP and Blue-ray set includes 20 never-before-heard demos and studio outtakes, was remastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at Quality Record Pressings. The deluxe box set is an example of the increasing number of super deluxe box sets that have been released in recent years, featuring multiple format content, premium packaging, and top-end production credits.
As per the release the following items are included in the box set:
– Electric Ladyland album (newly remastered)
– Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes (unreleased demos)
– Live At The Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68 (unreleased concert)
– At Last … The Beginning film (40 minutes of new footage)
– 5.1 surround sound mix of Electric Ladyland album
– Linda McCartney’s original cover photo as chosen by Jimi
– 48-page book featuring unpublished photos
– New essays by David Fricke & John McDermott
